Toys come alive at night and hop home to their toy box: across toy racetracks, a wooden railway and floors that are lava, with a robot vacuum on their heels. 200 levels in eight rooms, 18 toys to unlock. Free, for phone and desktop.
Tap to hop forward; swipe left, right or back to hop that way. Arrow keys or WASD on a keyboard, Space to hop forward, Esc or P to pause. Reach the toy box at the end of the room, pick up the three gold stickers for stars, and never touch the lava: stand on what slides across it.
Tiptoe Toys is a hopper in chunky 3D blocks, set in a house at night. When everyone is asleep the toys come alive, and each one has to get back into the toy box before morning. Tap to hop forward, swipe to go left, right or back, and cross the room: toy racetracks full of wind-up cars, buses and fire engines, a wooden railway whose crossing bell rings before the train comes, and a robot vacuum humming along behind you, so there is no time to dawdle.
Then there is the floor. Some strips of it are lava — the rule every child knows — and the only way across is to jump onto whatever slides over it: pillows in the bedroom, books in the playroom, trays in the kitchen, towels in the bathroom, cushions in the living room, suitcases in the attic, skateboards in the garage and frisbees in the garden. Stay on too long and it carries you off the edge.
It comes in short levels, not an endless run: 200 of them in eight rooms of 25, each a single crossing from the start rug to the open toy box at the far end, with a bar at the top that shows how far away the box is. Three gold stickers lie on the way for three stars. The dangers arrive one at a time — the lava at level 3, the railway at 7, the fire engines at 10, still cushions standing in the lava at 14 — and every level was played by a bot that had to win it before it shipped. Lose twice on the same level and the next try is a little kinder, without a word.
Coins buy capsules at 100 each, and every capsule holds a toy you do not have yet: a wind-up robot, a toy soldier, a rubber duck, a dino, a plush bunny, an astronaut, a knight, a clockwork mouse, a piggy bank, a rocket, a pirate and a ballerina, besides the teddy you start with. Five more are earned rather than bought: the Unicorn, the Nutcracker, the Jack-in-the-box, the Dragon and the Golden Robot. There is a daily room that is the same for everyone, a daily gift, five languages, and every sound is made in your browser.
